“Kobot” by Skylight Books’ Jenn Witte, featuring store cat Franny. When Google bailed out on its ebook distribution deal with independent book shops, Kobo came to the rescue. They are the new ABA partner for ebooks, and their ereaders are pretty sweet too. Plus they’re Canadian.
Covers for all of the bestselling books are illustrated by Jenn - you can see them on the website. Says the artist:
I drew an owl in kindergarten that won a blue ribbon. Maybe all the kids won a blue ribbon? I certainly hope so. My parents framed the owl and kept it in the hall of fame at our house growing up. I can say with confidence that it is because of that tiny piece of recognition that I’ve always believed that I can draw. No mental roadblocks. And I’ve never stopped drawing like a kindergartener. I thank my lucky stars that I work in a place where I can dump a load of crayons on a desk or create a dust cloud of chalk and people understand and respect me for it.
