Thursday, November 3rd: Live Talks LA and KCET present Adam Gopnik in conversation with Ed Zwick, to benefit the Los Angeles Review of Books. At Track 16, Bergamot Station, 8:00 pm (reception 6:30 pm.)

Les Figues Press celebrates the publication of Negro Marfil / Ivory Black with artists, writers, filmmakers, and more responding to the book at Eagle Rock Brewery beginning at 9:00 pm.

Friday, November 4th: Come see John Hodgman and very special guests as he celebrates the release of his book, That Is All, at Largo beginning at 7:00 pm.

Libros Schmibros reading group hosted by Colleen Jaurretche and David Kipen exploring Reyner Banham’s Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies beginning at 12:00 pm.

LARB Noir Editor Boris Dralyuk and poet Martin Woodside will discuss and sign their respective new translations at Small World Books beginning at 7:00 pm.

Saturday, November 5th: Remember, remember the 5th of November: Celebrate Guy Fawkes’ Day at Libros Schmibros beginning at 11:00 am.

The Poetic Research Bureau presents Hillary Gravendyk and LARB Poetry Editor Claudia Rankine at The Public School beginning at 7:00 pm.

Kate Zambreno and Kate Durbin will read and sign their books Green Girl and E! Entertainment at Skylight Books beginning at 5:00 pm.

Sunday, November 6th: 5th Annual Les Figues Press Benefit Auction with performances, art, and more at Human Resources beginning at 4:00 pm.

LARB Nonfiction Editor Julie Cline will moderate the Creative Nonfiction session at this year’s PAMLA conference at Scripps College beginning at 4:45 pm. Presenters include Jocelyn Heaney, Jackie Bang, and Kevin Moore.

Ry Cooder in conversation with David L. Ulin about his new collection The Los Angeles Stories at Skylight Books beginning at 5:00 pm.
